Being A Single Christian Women in 2015

Today as I sit in my classroom and look out the window at the beautiful sunshine and see the breeze blow through the trees, I sit in deep thought. I realize that being single in 2015 can be a bit challenging. Add to that a 43 year old, self employed, Christian Woman and I have made my odds more scarce! 
Don't get me wrong, I love my life and all that I have been blessed to enjoy. I enjoy Bible Study on Wednesdays.  I love my Sunday School class because I feel it was designed with me in mind! I enjoy ministering to inmates in the Prison Ministry and attending church on Sunday mornings. But, whenever I encounter a man and he "claims" to be a Christian,  well...it's just a "claim". You see most only attend church every now and then. Then there are the men that only say they go to church, never attend and NEVER speak about the Word of God or His goodness. I have had men tell that in order to date me they would have to try a "sample of the goods" because you get to test drive a car!
It is a sad day in 2015 when more men are looking for a one night stand or just a fling to pass time. It is not just because a man will be a man but, because so many women are settling and allowing themselves to be "sidepieces". And the men continue to bring the lies to women like myself, a woman not willing to settle for the drama.  And once I mention that I am celibate...men try their hardest to tell me WHY this is a mistake.  I am getting older, I will be single forever if I don't give it up and so on. I don't fall for the okie doke and refuse to.
I could go on and on about the stories I get from men. Yes, it is sad that it seems there are fewer good SINGLE men of God available, but I will not settle. I will continue to pray, praise, worship and testify as I am supposed to do. If the man who GOD has for me is out here, he will find his virtuous woman.  If not, I will continue my journey alone but not lonely!

  1. Amen, sister. Keep the faith! It is possible, keep praying. My brother married a woman and they waited. They couldn't be happier! I'm in the same boat, but I thank God for discernment.
